After retiring from a career in public education in 2015, I moved to Honolulu from California to be near my oldest son and his family. I’m so proud of my crew! My oldest son served as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corp and now is an engineer with the Department of the Navy. My daughter-in-law is a U.S. Army Colonel serving as a Doctor of Psychiatry. My youngest son serves as a firefighter for the City of Los Angeles.
I’ve been a lifelong community volunteer and advocate for children. My volunteer activities have continued in Oahu with Sea Inspiration, Navy Hale Keiki School, Tripler Army Medical Centers’ Fisher Houses 1 & 11, and Waikiki Rotary (Youth Services Chairman).
I became an avid supporter of Sea Inspiration because I wholeheartedly agree with its mission. I love Sea Inspiration’s focus on environmental education, and its support of children and our veterans who continue to face severe medical challenges.
Serving on the board of directors of Sea Inspiration is highly rewarding. It is satisfying to work with a group that helps so many people while shining a spotlight on the magnificent oceans that need our help.
